Google Talk on ICQ
- In addition to Facebook chat, ICQ now supports Google Talk on its new PC and mobile client versions*. In order to connect to Google Talk friends, you need to first download or upgrade to the ICQ 7M PC client and connect to your Google Talk account to ICQ 7M. Once you are connected to Google Talk on ICQ 7M, you can start chatting with friends from Google Talk on ICQ for iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch), Android and Java platforms.
- ICQ for iPhone - You need to upgrade to ICQ version 2.8 for iOS devices in order to chat with Google Talk friends after you connect via ICQ 7M.
- ICQ for Android and Java operating systems - You can chat with Google Talk friends on ICQ for Android and Java mobile operating systems, but note that their status icons will appear using the same ICQ status icon (grey flower) that your ICQ friends have.
-
Note that you may see Google Talk friends who indicated their status as “busy” with the status “away;” we’re working on a fix for this.
Please keep in mind that we are constantly working on improving ICQ for you and will be releasing updates and fixes regularly to ICQ desktop and mobile clients - so please check back with us soon!
*Google Talk is not yet supported in Web ICQ, Mobile Web Chat, ICQ for Symbian OS, ICQ for Mac, or (beta) Linux versions.
