Follow these steps*:

From the Contacts menu choose View History.

In the History window you can choose to view all history items or select a contact from the Contact dropdown list to view items for a specific friend.
*You can also click the
Advanced Search link to display the advanced search panel enabling you to search for a specific type of message or activity(SMS, Phone message, file transfer etc.) or search a defined time range.
