Clicking the Main button will give you the following options:
- Add / Invite Users
Within this menu, you have the following choices:
- Invite a Friend to ICQ - This option takes you to the Invite
a Friend to ICQ screen. From here, you can send an invitation to your friends who haven't
yet joined ICQ.
- Find Users -Add to List - This menu gives you various options with
which you can invite, or find new friends to join ICQ (using the Add/Invite Users to Your Contact List dialog.

- ICQ Meet People Directory - The ICQ Meet People directory is a directory of user Info, Interests, Background, and Affiliations.
- Chat with a Friend - This option allows you to search and chat with random ICQ users who are online.

- Add non ICQ Contact -ICQ gives you the ability to send and receive SMS messages with non-ICQ users. This is where you can add these contacts.
- Public Chat Rooms - Explore thousands of public chat rooms through the ICQ website. More Info.
- Users' List - Use this feature to explore communities of ICQ users by topic, created by users on sites around the Web. More Info.
- Meet People -This option takes you to the Meet People website page where you can search for old and new ICQ friends using such fields as first name, last name, ICQ number, gender, age, phone number, interest and so on.

- Help - Selecting ICQ Help Center will take you to the ICQ Help Center on the ICQ website.
- Welcome to ICQ - Clicking this option will open the Welcome to ICQ window in your Web browser.
This window will give you all the latest ICQ community and feature information.
- Exit
- Switch User ( Logout ) - This option will take you to the Login screen.
From here, it is possible to do the following:
* Log on again to ICQ.
* Log on as a different ICQ user.
* Set up your connection properties.
* Remove an ICQ number from the computer you are using.
* Sign on as a Guest on someone else's computer. Learn more about this
- Shut Down - Shut down the ICQ program completely.
Add Invite Users to your Contact List
This window enables you to search for your friends and contacts on the ICQ Network.
To use this feature:
- Click the Main button.
- Select Add / Invite Users.
- Choose Find User > Add to List.
The following search options are displayed:
- ICQ# - Enter the ICQ number of the user you want to find or communicate with.
- Names - Search by nickname, first name, or last name.
- Email - Fill in this field to search for users by their email address.
- AOL Screen Name - Search by entering an AOL, AIM user name.
Note: You can also edit your own details that others can search for by choosing View/Change my Details from the Main menu and editing the information in the various fields.
Check Online Only to limit the search for those users that are currently online.
View / Change My Details
You can also change, update or remove any information for your ICQ number.
- Click the Main button.
- Select the View / Change My Details. A window appears with a number of tabs on the left.
- Enter or change your details.
- Click Apply to save the changes and leave the window open so you can make further changes.
Click Save to save the changes and close the window.
The information you post on these tabs will mostly be shown to other ICQ
users when they search for information you specify.
Please note: Providing any information about yourself on ICQ is voluntary. The more information you provide
about yourself, the easier it will be for your friends to locate and communicate with you. Information you do provide will be
published on the ICQ directories and will be visible and accessible by ICQ and Internet users.
