ICQ Tour  - Send a Voice Message or Audio File

Exchange voice messages with ICQ pals!
ICQ lets you to send voice messages or audio files of up to fifteen seconds in length (or 120kb), along with a text message. All you need is a sound card, and a microphone attached to your computer system!

To send a voice message or audio file:
  1. Click on a user name in your Contact List
  2. Choose Voice Message.

    Note: The first time you choose to send a Voice Message,
    you will be asked to activate this feature - just click Download Now.
    Or, at any time, you may go to the My ICQ menu, choose Add/Remove
    Features, and activate ICQ Voice Message.

  3. The Send Online Voice Message window will now be open on your screen. Be sure your microphone is properly attached and configured.

    Note: One may send either a voice message or an audio file in a single event, but not both together.
To record & send a voice message:

  1. Click to record a message of 15 second.
  2. Click to stop recording.
  3. Click to playback your message.

    Fast forward or fast back option.
    Skip to the beginning or end option.
    Loop On-on Loop Off-off - Continuous loop play option.

  4. Insert an accompanying text message in the Text Message dialog box.
     
  5. Before sending, click the check box
    to save this message.

  6. Click the Send button.
Outgoing Folder button -
Click to view your saved outgoing voice messages.

Incoming Folder button -
Click to view your saved incoming voice messages.


 To record & send an audio file:
  1. Click the Send Wave File radio button .
  2. Click the Import button to browse and select an audio file, in wave format, from your computer.
  3. Click the Play button to listen to the audio file before sending.
  4. Click the Stop button to stop playback.
  5. You may insert an accompanying text message in the Text Message dialog box.
  6. Before sending, click the Save Outgoing Voice Message check box to save this event.
  7. Click the Send button to send the audio file and any accompanying text.

Note: The recipient must be online and on ICQ in order to receive your voice message or audio file.
