Most Common Registration Issues
In order to register, you must be able to establish a connection between your computer
and our server. The five most frequent reasons for not being able to register are:
- No open communication link. You currently do not have an open communication link between your computer and our server.
- Our system is under maintenance. You are connecting on one of those rare occasions that our database or servers are undergoing maintenance.
- You are behind a firewall. You are in an organization and work behind afirewall that should be configured to work with ICQ.
- Info Number 132/117 - Could Not Complete Registration. Try to register again later.

Starting Registration
When ICQ is installed successfully, you can start the registration
process by running ICQ:
- Click the Start Button in the Task Bar.
- Choose Programs.
- Select ICQ 4. The ICQ client will launch. From the Login screen,
click the Get an ICQ Number button and follow the onscreen instructions to register your ICQ number.
