Status Options
When using ICQ, you can choose Online, Away, Extended Away,
Invisible, and Offline status modes. You can set the mode by
clicking the status icon at the bottom of the ICQ window.

The drop-down list status options are:
- Available/Connect - This connects you to the ICQ network.
- Away - This status is for when you're away from your computer for a short period of time.
- N/A (Extended Away) - This is for a long absence from ICQ. After an extended period of being away, ICQ will automatically set the status to N/A. You may also select up to eight preset messages for this status.
- Privacy (Invisible) - Choose this status to indicate to other users that you are offline, when in fact you are online. You will be informed of the online/offline status of your contacts; however, they will see you as offline.
However, you will be able to receive events from all users whether you appear to them online or offline. Events received in Privacy (Invisible) mode will be announced by an alert sound and a flashing icon on your Contact List and in your desktop tray. Note: When you send an event to an online user while you are in Invisible mode, the recipient will become aware of your Online/Invisible status. You will appear on his/her online list with a Privacy icon next to your name.
- Offline/Disconnect - ICQ places you in Offline mode.
