How do I make a call from my ICQ to another ICQ user? (PC to PC)
|
Simply, click the person on your ICQ Contact List you wish to call,
select ICQphone and send an Online PC-to-PC call request. Once the other side has accepted your
request you may talk as much as you like. The ICQphone PC-to-PC calls do not cost you anything. Please note
that sending a PC-to-PC call request will enable the recipient to view the senders IP address.

Does the person I'm calling need to have ICQphone?
|
When you make a PC-to-Phone call the recipient does not have to have ICQphone.
However, with PC-to-PC calls both parties must have ICQphone
|

How do I make a call from my PC to a regular phone? (PC to Phone)
|
To make a phone call from your ICQ to a regular telephone or from a telephone to another ICQ user, you need to have an ICQphone account. Simply,
launch ICQphone (Services button => ICQphone) and dial the phone number you wish to call, including the country and area code.
If you are calling a phone number in the USA dial 1 before the number you dial. If you are calling a phone number
outside the USA, dial 011, country code, area code and then the phone number.

How much does ICQphone cost?
|
ICQphone is free software inside the ICQ client, which provides you with
numerous free services, enabling you to communicate with your online friends over the
Internet at no cost. Charges apply only to toll PC-to-Phone calls. These
charges accrue on a per minute basis, at rates substantially lower than telephonic communications, up to 95% less!

What can I do for free with ICQphone?
|
PC-to-PC - Live conversation from your PC to any other PC in the world (both sides need to have ICQphone installed).

Are there any hidden costs?
|
No. You pay only for toll calls at ICQphone's low rates (PC-to-Phone, Phone-to-PC, Phone-to-Phone).

Why do I need a PIN and a secret question?
|
Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is selected by you and attached to your ICQphone account.
It is used to confirm that you are placing a call or using a given service. You must insert your PIN each time you make a
call. Therefore, you will be prompted to enter your PIN each time you use ICQphone. Your Secret Question is a question you designate at
Registration that will enable us to identify you in the event you forget your PIN or request other information
regarding your account. It is used much the same way "mother's maiden name" or "last four digits of your social
security number" is used by banks and credit card companies to confirm the identify of a person calling about an
account.

I forgot my PIN what should I do?
|
If you have forgotten your PIN and can't use your ICQphone software,
we have a solution for you. Contact us at support@icqphone.com or through 1-888-376-2873 (from US).
Your account number and a new PIN will be sent to your e-mail address on file.

Can I receive a call while using ICQphone?
|
Yes, but accepting another call will cancel your current ICQphone call.
|

What are my privacy options with ICQ?
|

Can ICQphone go through firewalls? Through a Proxy?
|
A proxy server and firewall are filtering devices that filter access to protected networks.
Your Internet provider or system administrator could have a firewall set up or could be using a proxy server.
There may be circumstances in which
ICQphone may not work. You can check it out by doing the following: Click Services => ICQphone => Preferences => Settings => Setup Wizard =>
Click Next until you get to Network and firewall testing dialog. =>Test.
The results of the test will be presented to you.
Please note that in certain cases, even if you are behind a firewall in a LAN or Intranet Network,
and you are not able to communicate with users outside your firewall, you may still be able to use ICQphone
inside your Network.

Can I use ICQ on a LAN or Intranet Network?
|
ICQphone can be used for communications between parties on the same private network. However, you cannot call into or out of the
private network with ICQphone.

Can I improve the quality of my voice communication?
|
There are several steps you can take to reduce echo, background noise, sound distortion and static. Click Services => ICQphone => Preferences => Settings => VOX
Settings and fix your settings.

Will ICQ phone work with a connection other than 28.8?
|
Yes. Generally, however, the faster your connection, the better the quality of your ICQphone call.
If your connection is less than 28.8, the quality of communication will suffer.
