Leaving Outgoing Messages |
 |
When you're away or do not wish to be disturbed you can leave outgoing messages on
your ICQ for people who are looking to make contact with you. Your message will
appear in two places:
- On your ICQ client
- In your Unified Messaging Center
It's simple to leave a message:
- Click the ICQ/Menu button.
- Select Preferences & Security.
- Choose Preferences
- Choose the Status tab.
The Status tab enables you to specify connection status options and to leave
outgoing messages for the various status modes.

Preferences - Status Menu
In the Default Availability Mode Message box, click the down arrow to select
the mode of your availability status, as in the list above.
The ICQ icon changes accordingly and two more things change:
- The text in the Presets box
- The text in the message box
By clicking the down arrow in the Presets box, you can change the message for
your availability mode.
For example, in N/A (Not Available) mode the message (preset) could be
Fishing. With the message title appears the text of the message.
You can edit the outgoing message or change the presets by clicking the Rename Presets button.
A dialog appears:
|
Rename your message title and change the default outgoing message in the
message box.
|
When someone sends you a message while you're in one of the statuses they receive the
outgoing message you left in your Preferences on the Status tab.
You can enter up to 8 different outgoing messages for each of the following
