yourself with the Simple Mode Features first, and then switch to Advanced mode.

Choosing your Preferred Mouse button |

When you wish to begin sending events to another ICQ user, clicking on the selected user will prompt you to
choose which button to use for ICQ's Event Menu.
| Select which mouse button to use in order to open the
ICQ menus. If you want this message not to show again, simply check the Don't show this message again.

- Message - Send an outgoing message.
- Web Page Address (URL) - Send a page you're viewing on the Internet
- ICQ Chat - Send an online chat request to the user you selected
- Info - View a user's information and details
- Rename - Select this option to rename a user to your choice. Type in the name you want to be seen and press the Enter key.
- Delete - This option will delete the user you selected from your Contact List
- Advanced Features - Once you have mastered Simple Mode you can switch to Advanced Features mode.

Note : When any incoming event takes place, you will here a corresponding sound, and an icon will blink next to the user who sent you the event. To receive the event, either double click on it, or click once on the user and select receive
Sending a Message
Double clicking on a user name will launch a Send Online Message dialog to this user. Alternatively, clicking on the
user name and selecting Message will present the same dialog.
Type your message in the dialog. Note that there is no limit to the amount of text you can send to ICQ99a Online users. If the user is offline or is using an older version of ICQ, you will be prompted to send the message to the user's Email address.
While you type your message you will hear the typing machine sounds. If you wish to disable this option, click on the Sound icon button next to the character count.
You have the option to set the font, font colors and background color of your messages.
Click on the More button to send your message to multiple users.
Finally, to send the message click on the Send button. Alternatively, use the <CTRL>+Enter if you want to use your keyboard rather than the mouse.
Sending a Web Page Address (URL)
- Click on a user on your list to open the Event Menu.
- Select Web Page Address (URL).
The current address your browser is opened at will automatically be added.
You may change the URL to a previous location by clicking the arrow for the drop down menu.
Click the More button to send to multiple users. To send the message, click on the Send button or use the keyboard (<CTRL>+Enter).

Sending a Chat Request
- Click on a user name and select ICQ Chat
- Enter a chat reason in the dialog box (optional).
- Click the Send button.
Note that the Join Session button is not available. This is because you are the one sending the request. If you already have an open ICQ Chat session with a user, sending the chat request to another user will enable you to click on this button, or if the receiver of your request is currently in a chat,
the receiver will be able to join you to the open session on his/her computer.
User's Details
Clicking on a user name and selecting User's Details will open the User's Details window, allowing you to Retrieve new information about the user, if the details have been changed since you added him/her to your Contact List. View the different tabs to learn more about the user.
Rename
Click on the user name on your Contact List and select this option to rename the user. Change the name on your Contact List and press Enter.
Delete
If you have an inactive user on your Contact List you can select this option to delete the user.
