Here you can find random online ICQ users to chat with, and make yourself available for
chat with random ICQ users:

Make Yourself Available |
- Click the Status button on the ICQ window.
- Select Chat With A Friend
The menu that appears offers you four options:

Find Random User |
|
1. Click the Status button.
2. Select Chat with a Friend.
3. Choose Find a Chat Partner. A dialog will appear with the Finding tab.

4. Click the drop-down menu of chat groups, and
select the chat group you would like to join.
5. Click Find a Random Online Chat Friend.
The dialog will retreive for you the details of your Random Chat Friend.
If you like to chat with this friend you have three options (on the bottom):
- Request a Chat
- Send a Message
- Send a URL
If you would like to find someone else to chat with, simply click the Find an Online Chat Friend
button again.

Available to Chat with a Friend |
Choosing this option will mark you in the ICQ servers as "ICQ users available for random chat".
This will enable other ICQ users searching for a random chat partner to find you through the ICQ servers.

Chat with a Friend Settings |
This tab enables you to insert details of your interests so, for example, if you're interested in
extraterrestrials and you state this in your interest details, another ICQ user who shares your
interest in extraterrestrials will find you and chat with you. To configure your settings:
- Click the status button.
- Select Chat with a Friend.
- Click Chat with a Friend Settings.
A dialog will appear with the Details tab.
- Enter your personal details.
- Check the box marked I Want to be available chat with a friend
- Select a chat category from the drop-down menu.
- Click Save.
Your details are now saved so the next time you choose to be available for random chat
you won't have to fill in your interest details again.
If you wish to change your details simply follow the same steps.

Find a Random Chat Partner |
- Click the ICQ button on the ICQ window.
- Select Add/Invites Users.
A menu is displayed.
- Choose Chat with a Friend
The Chat with a Friend dialog will open.
- Click Find an Online Chat Friend. When you get the results initiate a chat.
Another way is this:
- Click on the Add/Invites Users Button on the ICQ window.
A Find/Add Users to your list dialog is displayed.
- Select Chat with a Friend
The Chat with a Friend dialog will open.
- Click Find an Online Chat Friend. When you get the results initiate a chat.
