Configure your Contact List Preferences!
Click  -> Preferences & Security -> Contact List. The Contact List options let you change the appearance and settings of your Contact List.
The following Contact List features can be customized:
- Check the Launch ICQ Lite on startup checkbox to launch ICQ in standby mode when you start your computer. This will automatically launch ICQ when you connect to the Internet.
- Check the Access menus by left button to access the User menus for each user on your Contact List by using the left mouse button (default).
- Check the Disable Sounds checkbox to turn off all of ICQ Lite's sounds.
- Check the Open Contact List when any type of ICQ message is received checkbox to set your Contact List to automatically open (if it was minimized) when you receive an incoming event.
- Check the ICQ Window, when open, always showing on your desktop checkbox if you would like ICQ to be showing by default on your desktop when the program is open.
- Check the Show User ToolTip checkbox if you would like to see text explanations for the various ICQ Lite features. These explanations appear when you move your cursor over a button.
- Check the Enable Keyboard shortcuts if you would like to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to perform various features in ICQ Lite.
Other Contact List options:
- How you want ICQ messages to appear as you receive them - If, when you receive a message, you would like the message and/or your Contact List to open automatically, and if you want the message to blink in your Contact List.
- What additional languages you can use to send and receive messages (in addition to your computer's default language).
- If you would like to see the ICQ Lite welcome screen when the program starts.
