Clicking the Main button will open the Main ICQ menu. The Main button is
located next to the Status button. Following are your options:
ICQ Main Menu
- New Users
- Settings
- Services
- ICQmail - Register here for the free ICQ email service.
- Help
- Help - The ICQ Help File is available for download.
Additional help may be found in the ICQ Help center.
- Welcome to ICQ - Go to the welcome ICQ screen where you can access all the ICQ Help and FAQ pages.
- Exit
- Standby Mode - Set ICQ to standby when you close your Internet connection. ICQ will automatically restart
when reconnection is detected.
- Shut Down - Shut down ICQ.
Add / Invite Users - ICQ Global Directory Search Engine
Search for your friends and contacts on the ICQ network. You can search in a number of ways:
- Click
to launch the Add/Invite Users window.
You can search for ICQ users by:
- ICQ number - If you know the user's ICQ number, use this field to conduct the search. You can enter the ICQ number using spaces. For example, 123 456 789.
- Nickname, First or Last name - Search for users using a name.
- Email - Search for an ICQ user by using an email address.
- Click the relevant Add or Find button alongside the information you have entered.
Note: In this window you can search in one row at a time.
In the bottom section of the window you can find a random chat partner, find users by keyword, or invite a friend to join ICQ.
If you found your friends or contacted them on the ICQ network, you can now add them
to your Contact List. If they are not yet members of ICQ, invite them to join and add
them to your list of future users. The ICQ service will inform you when they join the
ICQ Network.
View / Change My Details
You can change, update or remove any personal information for your ICQ number.
To access and change your personal details:
- Click the Main button.
- Select the View / Change My Details.
- Enter or change your details.
- Click Apply to save changes and keep the window open.
Click OK to save changes and close the window.
Please note: Providing any information about yourself on ICQ is voluntary.
The more information you provide about yourself the easier it will be for your
friends to locate and communicate with you. Information you provide will be
published on the ICQ directories and will be visible and accessible by ICQ and Internet users.
