ICQ recently launched Open Xtraz, enabling third party developers to develop unique applications for use through the ICQ software, making these applications available for download and sharing by ICQ users worldwide. In order to enable a wide range of functionality for Xtraz features developed by third parties, ICQ has provided developers with the option of using certain information as specified below.

Providing developers the ability to develop applications that utilize such information will enable the development of rich applications. Nonetheless, we urge you to use discretion when adding third party developed Xtraz applications and add only those applications that you trust.

Since these applications are developed by third parties, it is important you understand what information such developers may use once you have downloaded or added their application. Furthermore, it is important to review any privacy policy or other terms of use that are provided by the third party developers in association with any of their developed applications since such terms may give the third party wider rights with respect to your information than the ICQ privacy policy

In order to keep certain sensitive information from being abused, ICQ does not allow the collection and use of the Email address you have provided in your user profile or phone numbers and addresses.

The information that a developer may access for use within his application is:

Your ICQ number
The following information you provided in your user profile and that is published on the ICQ search directories:
1. Nickname
2. First Name
3. Last name
4. Birthday
5. Your Picture/Avatar
Your list of friends and the above information made available by your friends
Your and your friends' online/offline status
