What do I see in the message session dialog box?
You will arrive at the message dialog box shown above when you initiate either an ICQ or SMS message. From this screen, you can create a message, through your own text or preset messages, and use graphical emotions for emphasis. After authoring the message, you have the option of choosing to send the message to either the user's ICQ number or SMS phone (if applicable), or both.

To choose from the selection of Preset messages:

1. Tap Preset, located in the middle of the Message dialog screen.
2. Choose from the list of presets and tap the one you wish to add to your message.
3. Follow the directions for sending an instant or SMS message below.

Note: If you wish to create more presets, please consult your device or Palm OS ® user manual.

How do I send an ICQ message?
To send a message:

1. Double-tap on the user you want to send a message, or highlight the user and tap the ICQ Message icon.
2. Type the message in the blank field at the bottom of the Message screen and tap ICQ to send the message. You may also send the message simultaneously to the user's SMS account by tapping Both, if it is shown.

How do I send a SMS message?
To send a SMS message:

1. Tap once on the SMS icon next to the user you wish to message, or highlight the user and tap the SMS Message icon.
   
   Note: If have not already input an SMS for the user, you will be prompted to enter one.
   
   
2. Tap the blank field at the bottom of the message screen to enter your message and tap SMS to send the message. You may also send the message simultaneously to the user's ICQ number by tapping Both.

How can I add graphical expressions to my messages?
To add graphical expressions:

1. From the Message dialog screen, tap the "smiley face" located in the middle of the screen.
2. Choose from the list of facial expressions that you wish to add to your message.
3. Follow the directions for sending a ICQ or SMS message above.

How do I receive messages?
You will be notified of incoming messages by a flashy "flower" icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, and by a flashy "message" icon next to the user's nickname.
To retrieve the message, simply double-tap the icon to bring up the message dialog screen.

ICQ for the Palm OS ® will only be able to receive messages and not other events, such as Contacts, URL's and Files.
You can, however, still message your entire Contact List to their ICQ account or their SMS-capable phone.
