What are the requirements for ICQ for the Pocket PC ?
In order to run the new ICQ for the Pocket PC you will need the following:
- A handheld computing device that runs the Pocket PC 3.1 or greater.
If you have a lesser version of the Operating System, visit the
manufacturer corporate web site of your particular device for possible
upgrades.
- An attachable or built-in modem.
- The ICQ for the Pocket PC Ver.1.0 Beta file from the ICQ Download page.
- An ISP account and a wireless network provider account
(required only for system connection over wireless network).
Some wireless service providers furnish both services. Check for
local availability.
- An ICQ # and password.

How do I register ICQ for the Pocket PC
If you don't have an ICQ#,
you can register as a new user by following the steps listed below.
To register as a new user:
1. In the Login screen, tap New User.
2. In the ICQ Registration screen, enter your details and select your password.
3. Tap Next. Your registration is completed and your new ICQ# is displayed.
4. Select your Privacy and Security settings and tap Done-Start ICQ.
In the event that you forgot your password, you can visit the ICQ Password Retrieval Service.
Note: You will need to configure the network settings of your handheld device before you can use ICQ.

How do I run the ICQ application on my handheld device?
After downloading the ICQForPocketPC.exe application, the ICQ Flower icon appears on the main screen.
Tap on the icon to start the ICQ application and enter the Login screen.
The Login screen enables you to register as a new user, change the configurations of your ICQ server host and port, and connect to the ICQ network. Your ICQ# will be saved in the drop-down menu if you tap File, Exit, and then re-enter ICQ.
To set the configurations of your ICQ server:
1. In the Login screen, tap Setup.
2. In Host, enter the name of the host.
3. In Port, enter the name of the port.
4. If you are using a proxy, select Connect using proxy.
5. In Host, enter the name of the host.
6. In Port, enter the name of the port.
7. Choose the proxy you are using, either, Socks 4, Socks 5,or, HTTPS.
8. In Username, enter the username.
9. In Password, enter the password.
10. Select Keep connection alive to ensure that you do not lose connection to the server.
11. Tap ok when you finish and want to return to the Login screen.
