Call a phone

To call a phone using ICQ, go to "Menu" — "Call by telephone".



The "Phone" panel will open.



In the "Contact" dropdown list you can select the desired contact, if not already selected. By clicking the "Pencil" icon, you be able to edit the list of phone numbers associated with the selected contact.

You can also manually enter the number to call. Enter the number in the "Phone number" field using the buttons on the panel or the keyboard.

You can save the number entered for future calls. To do this, click the  "Diskette" icon — you'll be prompted to enter a name of the contact.

After entering the phone number, click "Call".

If you have sounds enabled, you'll hear the outgoing call signal — long beeps. If the person you're calling accepts the call, you can begin talking. If the person you're caline declines the call, you'll hear a click and see an appropriate notification.

By using the  button, you can  turn off the microphone. Clicking on the button again will turn the microphone back on. The  button lets you mute the sound, and by dragging the slider on the sound control , you can increase and decrease the volume.

To end a call, click "Cancel".

Pay attention to the status of your account. It is displayed under the account name in the "Balance" field. Your account balance must be greater than 0 to make a call. If you want to add money to your account, click "Add funds".



If you have not activated Caller ID in ICQ's settings, you will be identified as "Anonymous" to people you call.

To let your phone number to be identified by those you call, enable Caller ID by clicking "Caller ID".

Go to "Account Management" to see a detailed report of completed calls and payments.

You can also call a contact from the conversation window by clicking "Phone".
