Notifications
To change notification settings, go to "Menu" — "Settings" and select the "Notifications" tab.
Check the events for which you wish to receive notifications.
Birthdays
To always remeber your friends' birthdays, check the appropriate field, and in the dropdown list specify how soon before a birthday you want to be notified.
Popup notifications
You can turn on popup notifications for events that you always want to know about. This notifications are small popup windows that appear from the ICQ icon next to the system clock.Check the events for which you wish to receive notifications.
Text in notifications
If you check this option, then notifications for new messages received by ICQ will include the text of those messages.Sounds
In this section of the settings you can customize the sounds that ICQ uses to notify you of various events.
In the "Sound scheme" dropdown list you can choose:
- "Default" — the standard ICQ sounds;
- "Sound off" — All notifications will be made without sound;
- "Custom" — a sound scheme that you create.
To set up your own sounds:
- In the "Sound scheme" dropdown list, select "Custom";
- Select the desired event from the "Event" list;

Select the desired sound from the "Sound" dropdown list.
In addition to the standard sounds, you can use your own. To do this, click the
button and specify the sound you want to use.
