Authorization is required so that only you can use your account. The authorization process consists of you entering your credentials: Your UIN (a mobile phone number or a username) and a password for signing in to ICQ. 

To sign in to ICQ, launch the application by double-clicking the ICQ icon .

A sign-in window will open. In this window you can sign in using an existing account or get a new one. 

Sign in to your account

On the "UIN / email" tab enter your UIN or the email address linked to your account, and your password. 

If you are the only user of the computer that you're using ICQ on, check "Remember me" — then you won't have to enter your password when subsequently using the application. You can't remember your password, click  "Forgot your password?" — You'll be invited to recover it.

You can also specify connection settings. To do this, click "Settings" and enter the desired parameters.

Select the status you want to use when signing in and click  Sign in" — the program will begin connecting to the server. The   icon will be lit up on the taskbar, next to the clock, when when a connection exists.

If the credentials you entered were invalid, you will receive an appropriate warning and the ICQ icon will be red — . Then you will be prompted to try to enter your credentials again. If you think you may not be entering your password correctly, try to recover it by clicking "Forgot your password?".   

If the ICQ icon is yellow (), it means there is no Internet connection or your network is not configured. To solve this problem, you will need to contact your system administrator.

If there is a connection, then the  icon will appear next to the clock and a window with a list of contacts will open — Congratulations! You're online!

Register and sign in with a new account

Through a mobile phone

Go to the  "Phone" tab. Enter your phone number in the appropriate field and click "Next". An SMS message with a code will be sent to the indicated phone number within 5 minutes. Enter the code in the sign-in window and click "Next" — if the code is entered correctly, you will be assigned a new UIN that you can then use to sign in to ICQ.



Through a social network (Facebook, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki)

Click on the icon of the social network that you want to use to sign in.


Enter the username and password you use to sign in to the social network and click "Sign in" — if your credentials are entered correctly, you will be assigned a new UIN that you can then use to sign in to ICQ.
