ICQ 8

To install ICQ on your computer, download the installer.

Then launch the file by double-clicking it. 

You will immediately see this warning:

Note that "LLC Mail.Ru" is in the "Publisher" section. This is the only way you can be sure you are using the real ICQ 8, which will not harm your computer or comprise the security of your data.

After verifying the name of the publisher, click "Run".

The program installation consists of 4 steps: 
Step 1. Choose the installation language. Click "Next >".
Step 2. You can choose the following parameters in this step:

• Make Mail.Ru your homepage.
  If you check this field, you'll always start working with the Internet from Mail.Ru!
• Make Search@Mail.Ru the default search engine.
  Checking this field means that your browser will use Search@Mail.Ru as its search engine, i.e. to search the Internet all you have to do is put your search query in your browser's address bar.
• Create icons on the desktop, quick launch bar, and in the browser window.
• Install Sputnik@Mail.Ru.
  Sputnik is a browser toolbar that gives you easy access to all of Mail.Ru's websites.
• Install "Internet Browser"
  Mail.Ru's Internet Browser is quick search, ready access to Mail, Odnoklassniki friends, and much, much more. 

After making the desired changes to the settings in this step, click "Next".

Step 3. Automatic installation of the program. Almost there! ICQ will be installed soon.
Step 4. Congratulations! Now ICQ 8 is installed on your computer! You get go online and start chatting with your friends right away.
