Make your homepage public and popular!
You can increase traffic to your site, and meet many new people by promoting your ICQ number & your homepage on ICQ and around the Web. Here's how you can publicize your homepage:
When you register on ICQ you get an ICQ number, an ICQ EmailExpress address & an ICQ Unified Messaging Center. These are ICQ Contact Options that every ICQ user has! Fill in your ICQ number below to view your contact options in your ICQ Unified Messaging Center:
The more you promote your contact options, the easier it is for people to find you and your site!
Fill in your personal details on your ICQ client. Enter your interests, your hometown, your picture or anything else you want people to know about you. And be sure to include the URL for your homepage.
To add your homepage to your personal details:
- On your ICQ, click Main.
- Select View/Change My Details.
- Click Personal Info.
- Fill in your Homepage URL in the Homepage field.
- You may enter your homepage into a category. This will simplify the search for it.
- Click Apply and then OK.
The information you enter will appear in the ICQ Meet People Search and when you send someone a message s/he may click on the info icon in the upper right corner of the message window to view your details.
Add an ICQ email signature to all your emails and let your friends know how to contact you: by ICQ, by phone, by email, and from their cell phone directly to your ICQ. This will enable users who have ICQ, as well as those who don't, to send you messages on ICQ. See how to do it.
When you post a message, join a group or participate in ICQ's many other communities you can include your ICQ number and allow users to find out more about you.
The ICQ Message Boards allow ICQ users to post messages about anything. Enter your ICQ number when you post a message and it will appear next to your name and link to your Unified Messaging Center.
Create, run and publicize your own ICQ Interest Groups, or join an existing one. See our ICQ Interest Groups site and find people with a common interest. Once you've chosen a topic and created your group, it will automatically appear in the groups directory where other users will see it.
Add your name to one of the many ICQ User Lists to meet and talk to people who share your interests. Search our User Lists and add your name and ICQ number to more than one list. If you have created an ICQ User List, you can submit your list so that we can consider adding it on our ICQ Lists Directory.
If you have a personal homepage or running a cool site, you should add it to an ICQ Ring to get more visitors coming to you site. Rings link user-created websites to other sites on the same topic for easy navigation. There are hundreds of ICQ Rings with topics ranging from Romance to Star Wars but if a suitable ring doesn't exist for your site - feel free to start a new ICQ Web Ring and invite people to join it!

- Personal ICQ Page: ICQ Pager, contact, communicate, page, message, and your name or nickname.
- ICQ User List: ICQ User List, list, friends, your name or nickname, and the subject of your User List.
- ICQ Help Site: ICQ Help Site, help, support, the subject of your help, and your name or nickname.

Mailing Lists of ICQ Users
You can also publicize yourself on mailing lists. Learn to create an ICQ users' mailing list. Once you've created it, you can submit it to be reviewed and posted on the ICQ EMail Lists Directory. You can also publicize it in Liszt, the Mailing List Directory.
Publicize your EmailExpress Address
With ICQ's EmailExpress feature, you can send email directly to an ICQ User's computer screen. This is useful for people who don't have ICQ yet. They can send an email to your EmailExpress address and it will pop up on your desktop as an ICQ message.
