In order to make your animated Devil work properly:
    - do not delete the "Mask" layer!
    - do not change the titles of or delete any Objects, Instances or Frames
    - do not change Object Linkage Properties.
  • First, open the "Ball.fla" file and save it under a different name (e.g. "MyDevil01.fla").
  • To change the animation from the default ball to an animation of your choice, you
must edit the "Face" Movie Clip in the "Face" layer:
Go to the "Face" Layer, choose the "Face" Movie Clip, right click and choose Edit in
    Place from the menu.
    Two layers will be displayed:
    1. "Label" - each of the frames here are labeled with a specific feeling or behavior (for example "sad")
    2. "Animation" - each of the frames here contain a movie clip with an animation inside that corresponds to the frame in the "Label" layer above it (e.g. if the frame in "Label" is called "Sad" the corresponding frame in "Animation" below it will also be called "Sad").
The 10th frame in "Animation" has been titled "Created". Here you can add your credit/signature (optional).
Step 3. Begin to Edit
  • Choose the "Animation" Layer.
  • Pick the frame you wish to edit.
  • Select the movie clip in the frame by placing the cursor on the object.
  • Right click and select "swap symbol" from the menu.
  • From the symbol dialog, click "duplicate symbol" (in the bottom left corner)
  • .
  • Give the movie clip a title according to the feeling or behavior that corresponds to it (e.g. "myDevilSmile").
  • Now create an animation by editing the movie clip you just created.
  • You can change the background in the "Background" layers.
Step 4. Save
  • When you have edited all the "Animation" frames and saved your Devil, you can test it with the testing tool you received in the .zip folder.
  • Open the Devil Testing Tool, choose your devil and check all the different feeling/behaviors in the corresponding buttons.
